The Central Clinical Laboratory of the hospital integrates Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology laboratories and offers an extensive array of investigations necessary for patient care. The Lab obtained NABL accreditation (ISO 15189:2007) in 2009 and ever since, the dedication and team work of the Laboratory personnel has paved way for continuing and increasing the scope of accreditation which has now been upgraded to ISO 15189:2012 regulations for quality and competence. The Labs provide both qualitative and quantitative analysis reports of patient samples with a focus on accuracy, precision and reproducibility.
A first-of-its-kind system of vacuum-driven pneumatic chute system traverses the entire hospital enabling transport of collected samples and delivery of reports at a series of pre fixed locations within easy reach of healthcare personnel.
The Blood bank delivers both diagnostic and therapeutic services comprising of blood grouping and Rh typing, antibody screening, donor blood collection and screening, component preparation, cross matching and issue. It is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment and functions 24 hours a day.
Laboratory information system uses Sage Accpac which assists in sample management, equipment and application integration and in electronic data exchange which enables us to maintain the Turn Around Time. All patient samples received for processing are bar coded and interfaced with the Lab information system. Turn Around Time with 24/7 availability for most of the investigations is a distinctive feature of our services.
The Radiology department provides basic imaging facilities such as X ray and ultrasound along with advanced and state of the art MRI and CT facilities, all of which are available 24 hours a day. Keeping a focus on patient wellbeing, the department also provides interventional radiological services for performing skilled therapeutic procedures under radiological guidance.
Radiology department has a dedicated PACS system in place which provides a permanent database for all the imaging studies, maintaining records as well as greatly assisting follow up of old patients.
The Central Clinical Laboratory at CHRI is NABL accredited, having obtained its NABL accreditation (ISO 15189:2007) on September 24, 2009. Since then the dedication and team work of the Laboratory personnel has paved way for continuing and increasing the scope of accreditation to 126 parameters and we have upgraded to ISO 15189:2012 regulations for Quality and competence.
In the process of ensuring quality of examination results, the laboratory has defined and implemented stringent Internal Quality control procedures and Proficiency testing through both External Quality control Assessment and Inter Laboratory comparison.
Department of Biochemistry Participates in Biorad EQAS program for Clinical Chemistry, Immuno chemistry, Cardiac Markers, Urine chemistry and in CMC EQAS scheme for HbA1C Analysis. Department of Pathology participates in CMC Vellore for Coagulation studies, AIIMS EQAS program for Hematology, TATA Memorial for Cytology studies. The department also participates in Inter Laboratory verification for Body fluid analysis, clinical Pathology and semen analysis. Department of Microbiology and Serology participates in EQAS for Microbiology, Serology, BBV Serology, Dengue Serology and Molecular Virology, all with CMC Vellore, in addition to inter laboratory comparison programs as per the ISO 17043 standards.
Blood storage centre was granted permission to operate from the year 2005. The license for operating blood bank, separation of blood components and apheresis were granted by Drug Controller in 2006, 2008 and 2013 respectively (License number: 270/28C).
The department of Radiodiagnosis is one of the key departments of the hospital and provides timely diagnostic imaging facilitiesby means of the X-ray, USG, MRI and CT scan services which are available 24/7. The Department has registered with and has obtained the mandatory approval from the AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) for the use of radiation generating equipment such as Fixed Xray, Mobile Xray, Mammography, C Arm, Bone Densitometer and CT Scan. Approval for performing Ultrasonography has been granted by the pertinent statutory body.
